This course is designed for anyone currently employed, or considering a career, in healthcare or associated occupations. It is an excellent preparatory course for those entering CNA, CMA, EMT, LPN/RN, or Medical Transcription.
学生们 will learn the tools of work analysis to aid in their understanding of complex medical terms, and then learn to relate those terms to normal and abnormal structure and function of the human body. Specialized lectures will delve into the various body systems. In addition, students will learn the basics of drug classification and terminology related to the 管理istration of drugs; diagnostic tests and procedures; and common abbreviations, acronyms, and symbols used in the various healthcare professions.
This class is a Prerequisite for our Billing and Coding Specialist class.
3 Credit Hour course. Cost includes textbook, program fee and tuition.
Understand the purpose and concepts of long term care.
Recognize patients’ rights and the legal implications of working in health care.
Demonstrate/perform hands on skills for meeting patient needs.

Have knowledge of the certification requirements for the State of Kansas.
